Chris Evans is a Wiradjuri woman with cultural connection to the Mudgee region of NSW. Chris came to her current role as Chief Education Officer, Aboriginal Education, at the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) after fifteen years working in teacher education at UTS after ten years of working as a secondary school teacher/head teacher in NSW public and independent schools. Chris’ research focuses on Aboriginal voice in educational processes. Her doctoral research ‘Designing higher education curriculum in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders’ focused upon improvement in the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge in teacher education curriculum through a process of cultural quality assurance.
