Dr Geoff Munns

Dr Geoff Munns researched into ways to improve student engagement and educational outcomes for educationally disadvantaged students, including those from Indigenous backgrounds. Before working at the Western Sydney University, Geoff had 25 years' experience in schools serving poor communities as a classroom teacher, school executive and principal. As a university researcher he continued this strongly focused commitment to making schools and classrooms more engaging and productive for poor students. He has been with the Fair Go Program since its beginning, and has published widely on its research - including Exemplary Teachers of Students in Poverty (co-edited with Wayne Sawyer and Bronwyn Cole) and Engaging Schooling (with Wayne Sawyer, Katina Zammit, Catherine Attard, Eva Vass and Caroline Hatton).
