Kate Ambrose is the current Director of the Centre for Professional Learning. She previously taught secondary History in remote-regional NSW and metropolitan Sydney. She has experience as a teacher mentor, supporting new teachers in an isolated school setting, and has retained a passion for supporting beginning teachers and their mentors. Kate was formerly an Officer of the NSW Teachers Federation from 2010 – 2017 working in the roles of Membership and Training Officer and City Organiser and was on the Executive of Federation in 2019.
Kate worked as a Senior Policy Officer in the Teaching Standards and Accreditation directorate at NESA from 2017 – 2020 where her focus was supporting non-school based teachers with Accreditation.
Kate has extensive experience working with a variety of Education stakeholders in NSW and Australia and is committed to enhancing and protecting the professional status of teachers.
