Supporting Students with Autism 7-12


The Supporting Students with Autism 7-12 Workshop is designed to develop an understanding of the wide range of characteristics of students on the Autism Spectrum; explore a range of strategies which address the needs of students on the Autism Spectrum in the areas of language and cognitive development, communication skills and social behaviour; develop specific strategies to help students on the Autism Spectrum access the curriculum, manage their own stressful reactions and modify their behaviours.

Participants will also develop an understanding of how to set up an effective learning environment for students on the Autism Spectrum.


Completing a Supporting Students with Autism K-12 course will contribute 5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing: 1.5.2, 3.5.2, 4.1.2, 6.2.2, 6.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

There will be a range of delivery methods which will include interactive lectures, group activities and individual development of teaching resources
