To support school leaders in their work, the Centre of Professional Learning (CPL) and our Trade Union Training (TUT) section have teamed up to offer a series of Leadership Webinars in Term 4.
This will be an introductory session on Effective Leadership (in school). Participants will learn about a range of current and influencing education theories and theorists; education leadership characteristics, principles, roles, responsibilities and opportunities. These will then be applied to a range of scenarios to explore effective leadership in practice for student learning.
The seminar will include an examination of key elements of the work of Michael Fullan, Andy Hargreaves, John Hattie, Blooms Taxonomy and Vivienne Robinson (student-centred leadership). The work of Professor Alma Harris and Dr Michelle Jones (distributive leadership) will underpin the scenario section.
Completing an Effective Leadership (in school) webinar will contribute 1 hour and 30 minutes of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.3.3 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Highly Accomplished Teacher Accreditation in NSW. It can also be used by those teachers maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
