This course will enable participants to explore the value of their current assessment practices and how they align with NESA guidelines. Teachers will examine assessment for, as and of learning and how that information impacts on their pedagogy to improve student learning outcomes.
A range of current assessment practices will be explored.
Completing Assessment K-6: Making Use of Meaningful Data will contribute to 5 hours and of NESA Registered PD addressing: 2.3.2, 3.1.2, 3.6.2, 5.1.2, 5.3.2, 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Participants will explore how to practically implement aspects of assessment in their classrooms.
The first session will explore the place of assessment in the NSW English and mathematics syllabus. Participants will examine a range of practical strategies that can be embedded in the teaching learning cycle to ensure that assessment is relevant, useful and manageable. There will be a range of plenary, small group and workshop delivery modes and the use of contemporary technologies.
