The Aboriginal Education K-12 Conference is designed to support the implementation of Aboriginal Education in public schools. Participants will engage with research, DoE and NSWTF policies to underpin and embed practices in the classroom.
There will be a primary and secondary workshop where educational leaders and experienced teachers will explore practical examples of ways to improve outcomes for Aboriginal students, develop knowledge and understandings of Aboriginal Australia for all students and build relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal communities. The presenters will be referring to the DoE Aboriginal Education Policy, NSWTF 25 Year Approach: The Way Forward and the NESA Standards.
Participants will be equipped to make practical and manageable changes in their classrooms, inspire colleagues and further develop Aboriginal Education for all.
Completing a Aboriginal Education K-12 Conference will contribute 5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing: 1.4.2, 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW
The range of delivery will vary with speaker/lecture presentations and workshops.
