Natalie Pierson

Natalie is a proud Koori woman from La Perouse, Sydney. She is currently an Aboriginal and Education and Engagement Advisor for Department of Education and Communities and has been working in a consultancy capacity for 7 years. Prior to this position Natalie was a classroom teacher at Darlington PS for 12 years.

In line with the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Action Plan 2012-2014 (ATSIEAP) Natalie is responsible for leading the development, implementation and evaluation of an extensive range of educational programs for Aboriginal students, their families and communities and their teachers. Ongoing professional development is provided to regional Senior Executive and school principals.

Natalie is a passionate advocate for Aboriginal Education in South Western Sydney. She has a strong focus on improving the outcomes of Aboriginal Students in the region as well as educating all students and educators about Aboriginal history and culture.
