The Secondary English Conference on the 23 March is now full. An additional date on Monday 7 May is now available.
This is a major English conference for all involved in teaching English in the senior secondary years. The focus of the conference will be the recently revised HSC English Standard and Advanced courses. This is an opportunity for English teachers to engage in a significant professional learning experience in order to plan, program, resource and implement the new HSC English syllabus for 2018.
This conference will provide:
- Detailed analysis of examination specifications and assessment requirements for HSC English, Standard and Advanced.
- Practical approaches and resources to teaching HSC English, Standard and Advanced to optimise student achievement.
- Detailed exploration of Modules A and C for Standard and Advanced, including ideas and resources for planning, programming and teaching and learning.
- Deconstructing and mapping the Module A and C rubrics against the examination specifications.
This conference will provide practical, transferable and adaptable ideas and resources to inspire confidence, engagement and agency in teaching and students’ learning. Fresh ideas will be presented to support teachers to implement the English Stage 6 Syllabus in 2018.
Completing a Secondary English Conference - HSC English: Through the Looking Glass conference will contribute 5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing: 2.3.2, 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
All secondary English teachers and Head Teachers of English
There will be a range of delivery modes including exposition, multi-media presentations, and plenary dialogues.
